A message about what really matters…

In my social studies class we have been exploring the idea of creating “Action Plans for Social Justice” for our classrooms. The idea is to use our abilities, interests, and passions to somehow make a change in the world. It doesn’t have to be huge movements, but small ideas that light a fire inside people to make the world a better place. I am currently creating an action plan around the theme of stewardship and conservation for my Kindergarten class. We will focus on movements within our school as we create recycling centers and help keep our community clean. Stay tuned to see how that progresses! Below is a link that was shared with us in Social on Monday. I think this video is the perfect example of using ones personal passion to raise awareness and send a message. As you are watching, I challenge you to think about what you might be able to do to make your community a better place and what really matters to you. Enjoy!

  1. Allie, I loved this video! Very creative and inspiring. I read this post the day you posted it, and I have been thinking about it a lot since then. Have you heard of Hannah Taylor from Winnipeg? She is a young girl from an upscale neighborhood who noticed a man on the street who was homeless. She decided to make a difference (I think that she was 10 at the time) and she started The Ladybug Foundation. Check it out here:
